Diamond merchant in Surat buys 455 Fiat cars for Diwali gift to staff

Fiat Group Automobiles India on Monday delivered its single largest order of 455 cars estimated to be about Rs 30 crore from a small industrial town Surat which doubles as India's diamond hub.

FGAIPL, the maker of Punto and Linea, took the order from a Surat-based diamond trading firm Hare Krishna Exports, which is estimated to have a workforce of about 1,200. Of this, about 500 were expected to have received the special annual bonus given by the company.
