Huge turnover in the 20-month old stock futures segment has pushed the overall turnover in the derivatives segment to a record high of Rs 5,114.06 crore on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). This is the highest ever traded value since the derivatives segment was launched on June 2000.

The earlier record set was just a day back on Wednesday, clocking a turnover of Rs 4,582 crore. The last day of settlement for the June series was instrumental for this record turnover on the NSE as

most derivatives players either transferred their position to July series or squared off their June position.
