Delhi To Put VAT In Place By Mid-Nov

The draft legislation for value added tax (VAT) regime in Delhi is likely to be introduced by mid November, Delhi sales tax department additional commissioner Amit Yadav said on Wednesday. Seventeen states have already issued the final drafts along with rules. Gujarat and Chhattisgarh are in the process, he said while addressing members of CII. Stating that the state government seeks abolition of CST, he stressed on a common market through integration of the state VAT regime with the Cenvat and other state levies and the abolition of CST.
