The 2014 DDA housing scheme offers over 25,000 flats across various categories.
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) extended the deadline for submission of application forms for houses under the DDA Housing Scheme 2014 from October 9 to October 15 on Wednesday. The scheme offers over 25,000 flats across various categories. It was launched on September 1 and the last date was fixed as October 9. But a DDA spokesperson said, Many people and banks requested an extension of the deadline for submission of forms as the application process didnt pick up due to the holidays and 'pitra paksha' period.
The pitra paksha period, which happened in September this year, is believed to be an inauspicious time by the Hindus. The first week of October has numerous holidays owing to Durga puja, Dussehra and Eid-ul-Azha.
DDA officials said of the 20 lakh brochures printed for the scheme, 17 lakh had been sold.
