The year-old Gandhinagar-based Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information Technology and Communication (DA-IICT) is hopeful of obtaining the status of a university in the near future following which it would be able to award a BTech degree for its four year undergraduate programme in information and communication technology. The institute is all set to enroll its second batch of students for the programme. Promoted by the Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation, DA-IICT commenced its programmes in the last academic year. According to a Reliance communique, the four-year programme has been designed to provide the best of conceptual knowledge and practical application skills in the core areas of information, communication and multi-media technologies.
The programme also places emphasis on an understanding of the business and social environment to enable a better appreciation of the application of technology, thereby helping students to broaden their perspective.
