Czech Prez arrives on Nov 7 to tap new markets

Czech President Vaclav Klaus will arrive in New Delhi on November 7 for a week-long visit, accompanied by a high-level business delegation that will explore opportunities for joint ventures and fresh investments in India.

Besides meeting President APJ Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the Czech leader will also address industry leaders at an interactive session organised by Ficci and CII.

With the Czech Republic joining EU, there are immense opportunities and conducive environment for increased Indian presence in that country.

Officials in the Czech Republic embassy in New Delhi said, India is an important importer of machine tools and heavy engineering equipment from our country and is our most important economic partner in Asia.

The two countries had formed a number of joint bodies, including the India-Czech Joint Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation, Joint Business Council and national and regional chambers of commerce, officials said.
