NYSE-listed Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) is eyeing a 10-12% growth in its India business, in line with the headcount growth. The company, which has a global headcount of 97,000, has a 23,000-strong team in India. It is looking at a similar growth in the headcount, besides hiring 1,200 freshers from various campuses in the country in the next one year.

We started our application and remote infrastructure management business a year back after acquiring AppLabs and iSoft," said Vivek Chopra, president, global applications, CSC.

In fact, the India business will also get a boost as the company has entered the domestic business wherein it will service Indian clients from India. The $16.1-billion firm has delivery centres in seven locations in India from which it services clients in the US, Australia and Asia. CSC's India operations are the company's second largest globally, with a team of more than 23,000 professionals across its development and delivery centers in Noida, Indore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore and Vadodara.

Deals for our domestic business are coming from financial services, retail, manufacturing and healthcare verticals and we have more than 30 customers in India. However, we are not going for the government business at present," Chopra added.

The company's focus on domestic market became clear last year when it acquired Hyderabad-based independent software testing company AppLabs and provider of advanced healthcare IT solutions iSoft.
