The fake notes, seized last night, were all of a face value of Rs 500 and the woman was identified as a resident of the border area. She was handed over to the local police station by the BSF.
The woman had passed through the check gate at the border to cross over to Bangladesh during the day to work as an agricultural labourer. However, she roused the suspicions of BSF jawans on duty when she was returning in the evening.
She was frisked and the counterfeit notes were found tied to her legs, the sources said.
Counterfeit notes of face value of Rs 7.5 lakh were seized in the area till August this year by the BSF, official sources said.
