Costa Rica expo to boost trade ties with LatAm

In order to strengthen business ties with Latin American region, India is participating in the 7th edition of the Costa Rica Technology Insight 2011 (CRTI), organised by the Foreign Trade Corporation of Costa Rica (PROCOMER) and the Costa Rican Chamber of Information and Communication Technologies (CAMTIC).

As many as 10 companies from India, led by Exports Promotion Council for Software(ESC) will take part in the two-day event starting June 1.

Costa Rica Technology Insight, is one of the most exclusive digital technology (DT) summit in Latin America, combining both, business meetings & conference activities and can act as a platform for the establishment of new businesses in the digital technologies industry, in Latin America.

Speaking to FE, Riewad V Warjri, India's ambassador to Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, said, " This event will provide excellent opportunity for Indian companies to interact with companies looking for innovative outsourcing IT services and products, as well as partnerships and alliances within businesses including, BPO, web and mobile applications, business intelligence, e-security, banking, finance, telecommunications, cloud computing, e-learning, among many others. "

The Indian envoy also informed that ESC organizes India Soft in India, annually where Embassy of India nominates some of the top Software companies from Costa Rica, Ecuador & Colombia. The cost of air ticket & hospitality is provided by government of India. This provides incentive to various Latin American Companies to explore the business opportunities available in India, he added.

At the Costa Rica Technology Insight, with more than 200 participants from different countries and regions such as Panam, Central America, Dominican Republic, Trinidad & Tobago, Chile, Mexico, United States, Canada, Europe and India, the Indian companies will meet together with Costa Rican counterparts under a great business atmosphere.

According to Indian officials, the focus of the event will be in three main areas; networking, business meetings and conferences, promoting this way, the establishment of new business opportunities, for both national and international participants.

Costa Rica is the biggest IT exporters in the world and holds number 10 position in world for computer service exports.
