The NSE and MCX'SX will commence trading in new currency pairs of euro, yen and pound streling from February 1, 2010. The move comes after the market regulator Sebi permitted stock exchanges to offer trading in three new currency pairs along with the rupee-dollar futures contract.
Vascon Engg IPO
The initial public offer of Vascon Engineering, which expects to garner up to Rs 200 crore through the issue, was subscribed 1.12 times on the final day of the offer on Friday. The IPO received bids for 1.21 crore shares (1.12 times) against 1.08 shares on offer, as per the data with the National Stock Exchange. The engineering firm has hit the capital market with an issue size of 1.08 crore shares in the price band of Rs 165 to Rs 185 per share.
Punj Lloyd bags order
Infrastructure major Punj Lloyd on Friday said it has bagged a Rs 1,100-crore order for highway development in Andhra Pradesh. As per the terms of the order won from GMR Hyderabad Vijayawada Expressways Ltd, Punj Lloyd will develop a 116.5-km stretch of National Highway (NH) 9 between Hyderabad and Vijayawada on an EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) basis.
Apollo Hospitals growth
Apollo Hospitals will invest around Rs 1,800 crore in two years for raising the number of hospitals under its operation to 70 with a capacity of 13,500 beds. The company currently has 46 hospitals under its operation with a capacity of around 8,000 beds.
SC to hear Rel Power plea
The Supreme Court will hear on March 15 Reliance Power Ltd petition challenging the Allahabad High Courts verdict that had in effect cancelled the acquisition of 2,500 acres of agricultural land for the groups Rs 25,000-crore gas-based Dadri power plant in Uttar Pradesh.
