HDIL raises Rs 400 crore through debt securities

Real estate firm Housing Development Infrastructure Ltd (HDIL) on Tuesday said it has raised Rs 400 crore through allotment of debentures. In a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange, the company said it has received application for 4,000 secured redeemable and non-convertible debentures aggregating to Rs 400 crore in first tranche. The debentures, which would be listed on the stock exchanges are worth Rs 10 lakh each, the filing added. The said amount is part of the company's plan to raise a total of Rs 1,150 crore by way of allotment of debentures, which will be issued in one or more tranches.

Teracom bags BSNL order

Telecom transmission equipment maker Teracom on Tuesday said it has bagged a Rs 104 crore project from state-owned BSNL to enable a fibre-to-the-home network that will help the telco deliver high-speed voice, video and data services to subscribers. BSNL will be the first telco in the country to deploy a fiber-to-the-home network, a type of broadband connection, on a commercial basis, Teracom said in a statement.

Tata Indicom-Samsung pact

Tata Indicom, the CDMA brand of Tata Teleservices, on Tuesday announced its partnership with Samsung to launch high-speed data-enabled phone. This partnership will allow both pre-paid and post-paid subscribers to access high-speed data while on the move. Subscribers of Tata Indicom will get 10 GB memory space as free trial usage to use in the first two months on their Samsung Corby handset.

IndiGo winter steps

Domestic private air-carrier IndiGo on Tuesday said it has taken a slew of measures to minimize flight disruptions and cancellations arising due to fog during the winter season. The airline has deployed CAT 111B authorised 114 pilots (93 captains and 111 co-pilots), which accounts for nearly 80% of the total cockpit crew, to undertake its flights operations in the eventuality of fog, a press release said.

EMMBI Polyarns IPO soon

Mumbai-based polymer processing firm EMMBI Polyarns plans to raise Rs 45-crore through an initial share sale next month, the proceeds of which will be used to augment its production capacity, a top official said. "We will go for an initial public offer in January 2010 in order to support our capital raising plans," MD Makrand Appalwar said.

Aurionpro Solutions merger

IT solutions provider Aurionpro Solutions on Tuesday said its board would meet on December 31 to consider the merger of Kairotef Analytic with itself. The board would meet to consider scheme of arrangement and merger of Kairotef Analytic into the Aurionpro Solutions, subject to the approval of the Mumbai High Court, Aurionpro Solutions said in a filing with the BSE.

Metalman, Italy co tie-up

Ludhiana-based auto component maker Metalman Auto on Tuesday said it has entered into a joint venture with Italian firm Cellino SRL to foray into production of four-wheeler parts.
