Speaking to eFE, Material Automation (Thailand) Company Ltd (MAT) Takashi Hirakawa, said CoCreate produces Collaboration and CAD software to help design products, share ideas and manage data apart from 2D and 3D modelling.
Material Automation is the sole Asia-Pacific distributor for CoCreate.
As part of its expansion strategy in India, CoCreate is in talks with 20 leading companies to sell its flagship products OneSpace Designer and OneSpace Collaboration software. Built on Microsofts .Net platform, it uses dynamic modelling technology that enables designers to create directly and anyone can reuse or edit a design in a real-time surrounding, Mr Hirakawa said. He was in Hyderabad to sign on Idola Fori Ltd as a distribution partner to market CoCreate products in India.
With a client list of 14,000 companies including Canon, Microsoft, Fisher, Epson, Samsung, etc and 199,000 users, the software can be used from the conceptual stage to the final product design stage.
This can help reduce travel costs for a company which spends a huge amount of money to send its design team to a clients office to develop a product.
Describing the design market, Mr Hirakawa said that there is a huge potential to bag mega design projects from automobile majors like Chrysler, Ford and General Motors. As the early stages of product design become a crucial factor, most companies look towards India for outsourcing.
According to industry experts, there is a potential to grow by 40 per cent over the next five years, Mr Hirakawa added.
