CMO Asia honour for HR-oriented Nerurkar

Tata Steel managing director H M Nerurkar has been conferred the title of CEO with HR Orientation" at Asia's best employer brand awards.

Additionally, the HR leadership award was conferred on Tata Steel Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) Radhakrishnan Nair. Nairs award, however, was received by company representative Sujit Kumar Bhiuyan.

Asias best employer brand awards is hosted by Employer Branding Institute CMO Asia with the CMO Council in Singapore as its strategic partner.

The award has been bestowed on both Nerurkar and Nair for having surpassed several levels of excellence and setting an example of being role models and exemplary leaders.

Nerurkar has been especially appreciated for his efforts in building Tata Steel as an institution through organisation development, leadership, innovation and change management approach and a supreme objective of building future leaders.

The Employer Branding Institute is a virtual organisation where senior leaders in HR connect with each other in cyberspace to share the best practices in employer branding.

The organisation has created a platform to celebrate the best in employer branding in about 59 Asian countries, including India.

The title CEO with HR Orientation has been included this year.

Some of the previous winners of similar titles include Y V Verma, COO, LG Electronics India (2009-10), and Arun Balakrishnan, chairman & managing director, HPCL (2008-09).

The attention and spotlight has been on India for quite some time now, for the growth opportunities that the country offers.

All the nominations were researched by CMO Asia and stars of the industry group, through a five-stage fine combing process, involving live presentations, Q&A and finalisations.
