The company bagged projects in various sectors like banking, ports, cargo, railways and e-governance projects. With a gestation period ranging between six months and two years, said CMC Ltd managing director and chief executive officer S S Ghosh.
Mr Ghosh in a telephonic conversation with eFE, said some of the projects were bagged in association with a group company, while others were gained through competitive bidding processes.
Mr Ghosh said there are two major projects from the domestic market. He admitted that the company had bagged the Karnataka governments G2C services project, but refused to disclose the worth of the order. The Karnataka project is estimated to be worth around Rs 40 crore. The two major projects are expected to give CMC an additional boost and more value addition. As things progress, more such projects would come under CMC fold, Mr Ghosh pointed out. The gestation period of these projects ranges from six months to two years, he added.
Refusing to highlight TCS role in winning and implementation of projects, Mr Ghosh said, some projects were gained in conjunction with a group company.
CMC would shortly open offices and centres in areas where TCS has no representation, so as to supplement each other. They could be located in Europe or Middle East, he added. There are lot of opportunities in the domestic market and CMC would continue to focus on e-governance projects.
