Clear backlog of mutation cases: Badal to revenue dept

Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal on Friday announced that the state revenue department would soon organise mutation fairs at all blocks as well as district headquarters to clear the entire backlog of the pending cases positively by January.

Addressing a seminar on the issues relating to revenue, power and irrigation organized by the Bhartiya Kisan Union here, Badal directed the revenue minister Ajit Singh Kohar to immediately issue a circular to all the deputy commissioners stipulating detailed guidelines to dispose off the pending mutation cases within a time bound manner.

He said that the government was committed for peasantry reforms including computerisation of the entire revenue record in the state on top priority. He pointed out 70% of computerisation work had been completed in 12 districts.
