The Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) Jammu and Kashmir council has stressed public-private partnership (PPP) model to develop primary, secondary and tertiary health care in the state.

Stressing to develop PPP model for health care, Jammu & Kashmir CII chairman Sanjay Puri acknowledged that the state was far behind in the health sector. Puri asked the legislators to raise the issues concerning the industries in the coming Budget sessioncommencing on 7 January.

CII favoured reduction in tariff by enforcing measures such as to reduce T&D losses and development of a long-term transmission policy. It also recommended privatisation of power in the agricultural sector. Issues like diversification of crops, contract farming, use of hybrid seeds and increase in post harvest facilities specially in cold chains were discussed.
