The confederation of Indian industries (CII ) will undertake a study on industrial sectors, including textile, auto components and drugs & pharmaceuticals, in order to analyse the impact of globalisation on Indian industry.

Addressing the media, CII president R Seshasayee said the study would arm CII to prepare the Indian industry for the next wave of growth in the global arena. Seshasayee said CII would work with the government to enable the re-shaping and strengthening the framework of the World Trade Organisation (WTO). What is clear is that while the WTO is a great democratic organisation, it is not moving fast enough and not moving adequately beyond the legal agreements to address its end objectives. India, as a developing nation, has an obligation to assume a leadership position to bring about a required change, he pointed out.
