ICCI Bank Launches 24-carat Gold Coins In Chennai
ICICI Bank has launched `ICICI Bank Pure Gold'-certified and tamper proof 24-carat pure gold coins in Chennai. Imported from Switzerland, these gold coins would be sold across the counter in key ICICI Bank branches. They are currently available in 10 grams and 5 grams denominations. The pricing of gold coins is linked to daily prices in the international bullion market, according to a bank statement.
KVB Net Up 60.26%
The Karur Vysya Bank Ltd (KVB) has posted a 60.26 per cent growth in its net profit during the quarter ended December 2002. Net profit of the bank stood at Rs 40.21 crore as against Rs 25.09 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. Total income, including other income, was Rs 179.29 crore (Rs 150.60 crore). Interest expenses was higher at Rs 86.40 crore compared to Rs 78.99 crore during the corresponding period previous year.

Analytica-Anacon 2003 To Be Held In Mumbai
Analytica-Anacon 2003, an international trade fair and conference for analysis, biotechnology, laboratory technology and services has been announced to be held in Mumbai from January 28-31. PM To Inaugurate Bangalore's Hanging Bridge On Feb 14
The Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee would declare open the country's second biggest hanging bridge in Bangalore on February 14, Karnataka minister for public works N Dharm Singh said on Wednesday. Speaking to reporters here after inspecting the progress of work on the Rs 47.42 crore bridge at Krishnarajapuram on the city outskirts, he said the project was initiated in 1999. He said the 1.83 km-long bridge with a height of 55 metres has been built adopting earthquake resistant equipment.
Euro-India Conference In Kovai
Engineering Export Promotion Council, Chennai and Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (Codissia) are jointly organising a `Euro-India conference on sub-contracting collaboration', in Coimbatore on Thursday. Representatives from 35 overseas companies were expected to participate in the programme, a Codissia release said on Wednesday. The conference would also be a buyer-seller meet, much beneficial to the industries and business community of this region, it added.

Kerala Govt Ready To Take Over Aralam Farm
Kerala Chief Minister A K Antony on Wednesday said that the state government was ready to take over the Centre's Aralam farm at Kannur. Talking to reporters after Cabinet meeting, Mr Antony said government would convey its decision to the Centre shortly. Half of the farmland would be distributed to tribals and the rest would be maintained as farm.
