Cidade De Goa gets 'Marque of Excellence Award'

Cidade De Goa, a five star resort in the coastal state has been given Thomas Cook's 'Marque of Excellence Award 2007-08'.

The resort is the most preferred by British tourists among Goa and Kerala hotels, says tour operator giant Thomas Cook's survey.

Judging on the feedbacks received from UK based, mostly chartered clients, the resort was given the coveted award. The resort, which celebrated silver jubilee last year.

" Thomas Cook is the largest outbound tour operator in the UK and the award is given out to the hotels that consistently get high customer satisfaction questionnaire," Cidade De Goa Manager (international sales), Ajit Barretto said.

The quality is judged through the rating parameters like accommodation, reception service, cleanliness, furnishing and decor standard, bar service, quality and choice of food, swimming pools, entertainment among others.

The award was presented to the hotel recently by Thomas Cook UK and Ireland head of product, Karla Marsh. " The 210 room hotel is based on unique Portuguese architecture theme and we have 85 per cent of foreign arrivals from UK," Milind Kakodkar, front office manager of the hotel.
