Micromax is not new to QWERTY phones and has stirred out some popular handsets like Q5fb, Q55 and Q7. But, other than the Q55 which was aimed at women, none of them had a certain ?bling? factor. With Q66, they have given the QWERTY family an unbeatable stylish member for the guys. This funky multi-coloured phone will no doubt impress the style savvy users who love fast messaging and social networking.

Q66 is a square clamshell phone with an easily rotatable swivel. The amazing blend of royal blue, purple and black colour used smartly on the keypad and along the frame gives it a smart designer look. The display is a 2.4-inch landscape screen. The other part of Q66 has a line of dedicated keys starting with two separate call keys for the dual SIM, music, messaging, SNAPTU, Opera, back key and the disconnect, aka switch on/off key. This is followed by the vibrant QWERTY keypad, where the space key is also a shortcut access to ten most preferred features on the phone.

The back panel houses a 2 MP camera and a speaker which supposedly has SRS HD effects. The back houses a 850mAh battery, the two SIM slots and a micro SD card slot. We found opening the back lid and taking the micro SD out of the card slot slightly difficult as the cover is stiff. Q66 has a good looking QWERTY keypad with soft cushion keys.

The camera is 2 megapixels and gives an average picture quality at a resolution of 1600×1200. Video recording is the same. The speaker delivers a robust sound quality, while the dedicated music key on the keypad gives instant access to the play-list. Its 3.5 mm jack is noteworthy. The 850mAh battery gave us an amazing two days of back up.

The Micromax Q66 comes for Rs 6,499. The Q55 is priced at 5k which has almost the same specs and form factor. However, the Q55 is an out and out girls phone, whereas the Q66 is what most males would prefer in this form factor.
