CESC Cuts H1 Loss To Rs 16 Cr

CESC Ltd has reduced its net loss to Rs 16 crore in the first half of the current fiscal to September 30, 2002 from Rs 133 crore in the first half of the previous fiscal.

According to the unaudited financial result of the RP Goenka controlled company issued here Tuesday, CESC increased its net sales from Rs 975 crore to Rs 1144 crore during the same period, a growth of about 4 per cent.

However, the company said that basing on the Calcutta high court judgment and order it commenced billing of the revised tariff permitted for 2002-03, which is included in net sales after setting off fuel surcharge receivable for past year for the first half of the current fiscal.
