Centre To Assess Kerala Drought Soon

Union agriculture minister Ajit Singh told the delegation of ministers from Kerala that the Centre would soon send a team to assess the drought situation in the state.

A delegation of three Kerala ministers led by state finance minister K Sankaranarayanan met Mr Singh here on Tuesday and submitted a revised memorandum seeking Central assistance to meet the drought situation in the state. Other members of the delegation included revenue and law minister KM Mani and labour minister Babu Diwakaran and senior state officials.

Mr Singh told the delegation that the government had already decided to send a team to assess the draught situation.
