The government on Tuesday gave 15 more months till March 2011 to millers to comply with sugar export obligations in the wake of rising prices of the sweetener. The millers can also discharge their obligation by paying customs duty for the sugar imported between September 2004 and April 2008, an official statement said. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has extended the period for fulfillment of export obligation of advance licence holders who imported raw sugar.
