The CBI has filed a chargesheet against Flex Industries chairman Ashok Chanturvedi and a former chief executive of Noida Authority in a land scam case and is in the process of filing another chargesheet against the former in a bribery case soon, agency sources said here on Thursday.

They said the chargesheet against the accused was filed in a designated court, which took cognizance of the chargesheet and asked Mr Chanturvedi to appear before the court next month.

Certain statements by the businessman had led to controversy about former Jharkhand governor and former Cabinet secretary Prabhat Kumar in February this year. He eventually resigned.

Mr Kumar was under intense media scrutiny after Mr Chaturvedi had allegedly told the CBI that he had footed the expenses of some parties hosted at Mr Kumars residence when he was the Cabinet secretary.

The sources said another chargesheet would be filed against Mr Chaturvedi for allegedly paying a bribe to the chief commissioner of Central Excise (Delhi) Someshwar Misra.

According to the chargesheet filed, Mr Chaturvedi allegedly entered into a criminal conspiracy with the then chief executive of Noida Authority Neera Yadav and got undue favours in the allotment of two plots measuring 20,000 and 8,000 square mts to Flex Industries and Flex Engineering respectively.

Investigations showed that Ms Yadav allegedly changed the eligibility criteria and got the two plots allotted in the name of Mr Chaturvedi besides reducing the price of the land from Rs 1,600 per square metre to Rs 1,200 without assigning any valid reasons, the the chargesheet said.
