Goodyear India has announced that it has a new chairman and managing director Antonio Capellini, who will replace Luis Ceneviz. Mr Capellini, who earlier headed Goodyear commercial operations of car manufacturing in Brazil. Former Goodyear India chairman will be moving to Goodyears facility in Australia. Mr Capellini previously worked with Goodyears South American operations in Columbia, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela besides the Goodyear head office in the US.

Goodyear India has joined hands with several organisations to propagate road safety, also bringing out a safety guide in association with the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation and Auto Car India for motorists on the Mumbai-Pune expressway. The company has taken the initiative to renovate and put up new traffic signs at the Delhi Traffic Police Education Park and is set to extend its association with the Delhi traffic police by holding workshops on safety tips for truck unions and taxi unions in the coming months.

Goodyear is doing a great deal to promote road safety and this is close to my heart, said Mr Capellini, Coming to a land as fascinating as India is indeed a dream come true personally, and I look forward to accelerating the international tyre experience from Goodyear worldwide for the driving pleasure of the Indian consumer. This is especially relevant to all the market segments we address currently in context of the rapid progress being made on Indias Golden Quadrilateral road projects.
