BoM Plans Bases In Britain, US

Bank of Maharashtra (BoM) is all set to go overseas for the first time in its history by opening up two representative offices in the US and the UK, SC Basu, chairman and managing director, BoM, indicated.

This is going to be the first-ever presence in any foreign country and slowly we might open similar offices in other countries like those in the Middle East, Mr Basu told reporters here on Tuesday. He was in Kolkata to attend the Banking Conclave, a seminar on Transformation in Banking for Accelerated Indian Economic Growth, organised jointly by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci) and Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) here on Monday.
