BMC Software To Invest $3 Million In Expansion This Fiscal

BMC Software, provider of enterprise systems management, has earmarked $3 million for its expansion plans in India this fiscal. The company has set up a research and development facility in Pune and plans to recruit 250 professionals by early next year.

The company is targeting an annual business turnover of $15 million from its operations by the end of this financial year. BMC Software president and chief executive officer Robert Beauchamp said that the business expansion in India marked a new level of commitment by the company.

Since the inception of its Indian subsidiary in mid-2001, the company has invested $1.8 million. The total strength of the company stands at 200 professionals and the company aims to have a total employee strength of over 500 by next year.

Mr Beauchamp said that the company plans to develop Pune into a full-fledged offshore development centre. This facility is expected to house approximately 500 developers in addition to housing an internal lab that will be spread over 5000 sq ft.

It also plans to set up a help desk in the country and look into the business process outsourcing opportunities from the sub-continent.
