The general elections are around the corner. With the majority of the population skewed towards the youth, it is imperative that they come out and vote. For many teens having crossed the threshold to being called adults, this would be the first time many of them would get a chance to exercise their right to vote.

The Indian Express Group, as part of a mass campaign initiative, has launched the Black Ink on Your Nail campaign.

The campaign, launched across nine cities Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur and Chandigarh is aimed at educating youngsters about the right to choose their representative and of the process involved during the elections.

For the non-voters, who have been left with a feeling of disenchantment with regard to the elected institutions, the campaign aims to rebuild their confidence in the electoral process.

Some of the prominent personalities who have lent support to the campaign include Cyrus Broacha, Kunal Vijaykar, Javed Akhtar, Rahul Bose, Parizaad Zorabian, Geetanjali Kirloskar among others.

Youth icon and veejay Cyrus Broacha is categorical, VOTE! Because it is about you. Because it is about your rights. Because it is within your power to stop complaining about something you can change.

The highlight is the campaign anthem written by Javed Akhtar and composed and sung by Shankar. The music score is by Eshaan and Loy. The anthem will be officially launched on Friday.
