We have received the formal proposal from Essel Mining for the Chudamani port project, the state commerce and transport minister, Jayanarayan Mishra, told FE. He said the interested party has been asked to give a project report along with the financial bids to develop the port on BOOST (built, own, operate, share and transport basis).

We will explore if any other party would offer a better financial bids before handing over the port project to Essel Mining, he said. Essel Mining, meanwhile, has appointed Mr G Pati, the retired chief engineer of Gopalpur Port, as consultant and chief executive officer for its port venture.
