The Bhubaneswar Stock Exchange (BhSE) is planning to diversify by entering into commodity and energy tradings.
“The stock exchange is now in a mode of revival and intends to diversify its activities”, said BhSE CEO Debraj Biswal. The exchange is now in the process of obtaining a depository licence.
Stating that the stock exchange is planning to bring capital market awareness especially among middle class investors of Orissa, the CEO said, “We are contemplating to have district level workshops and seminars to make the public aware.” It is also organising training classes in various management schools and engineering colleges where capital market is taught as a subject.
“We have already completed a training programme at the Institute of Mathematics, Bhubaneswar. Another training session is being organised for the Centurian Institute of Management”, said the CEO.
Meanwhile, the BhSE board of directors has elected former bureaucrat Vivekananda Pattnayak as the new chairman of the exchange.
