Bharti To Invest Rs 150 Cr In Chennai, Tamil Nadu

Bharti, one of the leading cellular service providers in the country, plans to invest Rs 150 crore this year to expand its network in Chennai and Tamil Nadu circles.

The service provider also plans to enhance the number of base stations to 453 in Tamil Nadu circle over the next six months.

Bharti Tele-Ventures joint managing director Rajan Bharti Mittal said in a statement, This investment will further consolidate our strength in critical centres like Chennai and Tamil Nadu. Bharti is aware of the huge potential these markets offer and is committed to expanding its capacity and offering the best service to customers.

The future dynamics in the telecom sector will be determined by the superior service levels that are offered and we want to make sure we are equipped to handle the growth and expectations of customers.

Bharti would be adding 35 more base stations in the Chennai circle to the existing 170 during the current year.

In Tamil Nadu circle, the company intends to increase the number of base stations to 453 from 277 currently, in the next six months.
