Bangalore Awaits Elton John

Besides the well-known IT.Com event, Indias IT capital is gearing up for yet another show that is set to draw the undivided attention of whos who from the corporate world.

Global music superstar and the King of BalladsSir Elton Johnis all set to enthrall over 30,000 people at the Elton John One Night Only live concert in Bangalore on November 2, 2002, with his best known favourites including Candle In the Wind, a tribute to Princess Diana witnessed across the globe by over two billion people a few years ago, making it the most watched live performance in television history.

Some of the best known faces in the corporate and film world including UB chairman Vijay Mallya, Smita Thackeray, Jackie Shroff, Gitanjali Kirloskar, Infys Nandan Nilekani, BPL Innovisions Rajeev Chandrasekhar and Biocons Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw are expected to attend the superstars performance. And given the invitee list, the concert will for the first time have special seating arrangements for the first two enclosures. Interestingly, Bangalore has been the landing ground for some of the worlds best-loved music and rock stars that DNA Networks has brought down including the legendary Rogers Waters of Pink Floyd fame, Deep Purple and Bryan Adams in recent months.

The event sponsored by McDowells and put together by DNA Networks in association with Pepsi, Pure Magic, channel V and Reebok will see Sir Elton John performing 28 of his greatest hits during his non-stop 2-hour-45- minute concert including numbers like Nikita, Sacrifice, Daniel, Rocket Man, Philadelphia Freedom and Crocodile Rock among others. While Sir Elton Johns customised piano will also fly in with the superstar on his private jet, the concert will be powered by state-of-the art lighting and sound and five specially imported projectors and giant screens to enhance viewing for the audience.

The tickets are priced at Rs 3,000, Rs 2,000 and Rs 1,000, respectively.
