‘Bang Bang’ becomes Hrithik Roshan’s biggest opener, all eyes now on Rs 100 cr mark

Hrithik Roshan-Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Bang Bang’ clocks an impressive Rs 27.54 cr on opening day.

‘Bang Bang’ has opened tremendously well at the box office. The film featuring Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif has managed to live up to expectations by clocking an impressive Opening Day collection figure of Rs 27.54 crore.

In this box office collections report, we compare the collections of ‘Bang Bang’ to that of Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif and Siddharth Anand’s previous releases taking into consideration their opening day figures. Interestingly for Hrithik Roshan, ‘Bang Bang’ becomes his highest Opening Day grosser beating ‘Krrish’, which made Rs 25 crore and ‘Agneepath’ that collected Rs 23 crore.

For director Siddharth Anand too, the film creates a new record by beating his previous release ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ that collected just Rs 7 crore.

However, ‘Bang Bang’ fails to do the same for Katrina Kaif as it becomes only the third highest opener ever after ‘Dhoom 3’ that collected Rs 36.22 crore and ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ that made Rs 32.93 crore.

Now, we will have to wait and see when ‘Bang Bang’ becomes member of the much sought after Rs 100 crore club and the record to neat is ‘Dhoom 3’ which did it in just three days, followed by Hrithik’s own ‘Krrish 3’ and SRK’s ‘Chennai Express’.

This year, the Salman Khan-Jacqueline Fernandez starrer ‘Kick’ joined the Rs 100 crore club collecting Rs 127.03 crore in just 5 days and the the next entrant was the Ajay Devgn-Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer ‘Singham Returns’.

Surprisingly, ‘Singham Returns’ collected Rs 100.68 crore in only 5 days after its release.
