Avance Technologies, a division of VMC Software, is targeting revenues of Rs 90 crore for the fiscal year 2003-04. The company expects its new product Avance Spire to contribute Rs 75-80 crore to the total revenue of the company. Avance Spire addresses the issue of recurring expenses for upgradation and replacement of old computers for running high-end software applications and operating systems.

Avance Technologies director Deepak Goyal said the company has been working on the product for the past 18 months and has invested approximately Rs 2.5-3 crore on R&D. The company plans to establish a network of offices in Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Kolkata to establish a second-level of distribution.

Mr Goyal explained that with the addition of Avance Spire card to the computers, the user will have the freedom to run the latest operating systems like MS WIN 2000 Pro/MS WIN XP/ Linux etc on the existing networked 386/486/Pentium computers at a fraction of the cost of a new computer.

Avance Technologies is also developing Network Security System Software in open source architecture. This will be launched in October 2003. By January 2004, Avance Technologies will commence marketing Avance Spire in the international market.
