United Nations and the Volcker committee have assured full co-operation to India in its probe into the alleged involvement of Union minister Natwar Singh and the Congress party in the UNs oil-for-food programme.

This assurance was given to India when special envoy Virendra Dayal, who was assigned to collect materials regarding Volcker report, met UN secretary general Kofi Annan and the chairman of the UN-appointed independent commission Paul Volcker seperately. Mr Dayal told that both of them had assured him full co-peration in the investigation.
