If you havent noticed, we are using more wireless these days. After the mobile phones and notebook computers which made messy wires redundant, consumers have developed a liking for portable wireless speakers. They get easily connected to a laptop, mobile phone or a tablet by means of Bluetooth technology and as long as you keep the receiver within its defined range, the speaker will run and produce impressive sound. Wireless speakers have appealing looks, are easy to afford and most important, they have really made our lives much more comfortable and sophisticated. With the proliferation of portable audio devices all around us, domestic device makers too have jumped into the arena; they have introduced newer models at regular intervals and tasted considerable success in the market. Recently, two companiesAmkette and Fenda Audiosent across their latest wireless speakers to us for a product evaluation. So, those who hate wires and often find it hard to entangle them can now breathe a sigh of relief. Being wireless, Trubeats Metal from Amkette and the Swan portable speaker from Fenda Audio are pretty good looking and convenient to handle. You can also take them outside the home and use them even while travelling or sitting in a park. Besides, they are pretty light in weight and extremely small in size. Let us check them out individually.

Amkette Trubeats Metal

Trubeats Metal, as the name suggests, is built with a metal alloy drum to produce the loudest sound from possibly the smallest space. It measures 57 x 62 mm in dimensions and weighs just 315g. Designed to deliver a power packed heavy bass sound, the Bluetooth enabled portable device also has a built in mic that delivers loud sound for both party and calls.

Inside the speakers cool-looking retail box, you will find the Metal, charging cable (mini USB), mesh carry case, audio cable for a wired connection to an audio source, as well as a set of booklets. The Metal could very well be the most beautiful speaker available in its class. It resembles a miniature metal drum and anyone will struggle to not find it beautiful. The metal construction feels really solid and ready to handle plenty of daily use.

The audio controls of the Metal are located at the bottom. They include power on/off, next track, previous track, status LED indicator, play/pause track, pick/drop call. In my experience, using the device at average volume, I found it to easily reach and even exceed its playback rating. In the test-run, I paired the speaker with a mobile phone, laptop and even a tablet. Pairing was relatively easy. And the sound that emanates from this Amkette device is very impressive. Their latest creation is powerful enough easily fill a large room with pleasantly rich, powerful sound. At full volume, it is all but certain to get you a call from your neighboursthe output is so powerful that it feels uncanny coming out of a speaker this size. You almost get a theatrical experience with it. I am pretty sure that those who are addicted to music will definitely savour the experience of tuning into their favourite tracks through this wireless Bluetooth speaker.

F&D Swan

There are some gadgets that are silent performers, while there are some which regularly assume the centre of conversations. Fenda Audio, a fast-growing gadgets firm, has introduced a new Bluetooth speaker thats clearly the latter.
