Five extra points?will be rewarded for every Rs100 spent at Amazon and Snapdeal on transactions of Rs 15,000 and above. Flipkart’s ‘Big Billion Day’ sale helped the company to achieve record single day sales of Rs 600 crore on Monday, and its competitor Snapdeal too increased its daily average sale with company claiming to have reached sales of Rs 1 crore per minute, adding up to Rs 600 crore for it too.
Amazon is planning its next big sale, Diwali Dhamaka, between October 10-16, while Flipkart is also planning a week-long programme during the same period. Snapdeal is expected to continue its ongoing scheme where discounts would be on offer on top of the line predicts on each day running up to Diwali.
As per the recent Assocham survey on ‘Indian Online Retail Sales Surge in Festive Season’ there is more than a five-fold increase in revenue generated through e-commerce as compared to last year with all branded apparel, accessories, jewellery, gifts, footwear are available at a cheaper rates and delivered at the doorstep within two to three days.
The survey also revealed that that e-commerce sales in August and September grew by 200% from the same months in 2013 (120%), with mobile sales booming 100%.
The report further said, consumers are turning to the internet savvy because of the fast and simple payment and delivery service. Online shopping is estimated to be up by 350% during the festive season than visiting bricks and mortar stores, adds its report.
