Ambani walks the red carpet

Anil Ambani attended the glittering 84th Academy Awards, where three films produced by DreamWorks Studios, his co-venture with Steven Spielberg, were nominated for 11 Oscars.

Ambanis Reliance Entertainment owns 51% stake at Spielberg's DreamWorks Studios, which produced Oscar nominated The Help, War Horse and Real Steel, making it the first time for an Indian owned movie company to be represented at the Oscars in such a big way.

Octavia Spencer won the Oscar for best supporting actress for her performance in The Help in which she portrayed big-mouthed maid Minny. The Help, directed by debutante director Tate Taylor was nominated across four categories including Best Picture. The film is all set to hit Indian theatres on November 25.
