Global e-commerce major Amazon has started its ‘Diwali Dhamaka Week’ sale today morning. During the deep discount online shopping carnival, customers can shop between 7 am to 6 pm. The sale ends on October 16.

Amazon’s festive bonanza offers lucrative deals to customers across nearly 30 categories with discounts going up to 70% in products like mobile phones, laptops, shoes, toys, books and watches.

Products like Micromax Canvas Knight A350, offered at Rs 11,999 (56% discount), have already been sold out. Other sold out items include, Philips Air Fryer for Rs 8,999 (original price Rs 15,995). Offers of 20-29% discounts are also available on Apple iPhone 5S phones and 37% on iPhone 5C.

The etailer is also offering 55% discount on Nokia Lumia 625.

For the big sale, Amazon has put up categories like ‘Lightening Deals’, highlighting current hot deals as well as showcasing upcoming and missed products on sale.

There are also ‘Deals of the Day’. Today’s products on offer include Dell 3542 15-inch laptop, which is available for Rs 28,444 (21% off), Canon Pixma e400 printer for 2,499.00 (55% off) and more.

Amazon is also offering a gift card worth Rs 150 on purchases over Rs 1,000 if customers shop on its app.

Some of the other exciting offers that customers can look forward to in the Diwali Dhamaka Week include:

* Rs 2000 off on Kindle Paperwhite

* Flat 20% off on laptops and 30% off on mobiles

* Flat 40% off or more on luggage & bags from brands like American Tourister, Wildcraft, Puma and more

* Flat 25% off or more on Home & Kitchen products

* Up to 70% off on books

* Flat 55% off on handbags and flat 50% off on shoes

* Flat 60% , 50%, 40% off on men, women & kids wear respectively

* Up to 40% off on video games

Amazon has promised a bigger and better experience for customers than ever seen before in India. The big Amazon Diwali Dhamaka Week comes shortly after Flipkart’s ‘Big Billion Day Sale’ on October 6 that led to numerous glitches for customers, forcing it to actually apologise to them.

Flipkart has claimed that ‘an unprecedented 1.5 million people shopped during the Monday blitzkrieg, achieving sales of $100 million in just 10 hours.
