Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Entertainment’ box office collections on opening day has been below expectation, having generated business worth Rs 11.57 crore on Day 1.
Considering that comparisons are inevitable, ‘Entertainment’ business lags far behind year’s biggie, Salman Khan’s ‘Kick’ (Rs 26.40 crore on opening day) and six other films including ‘Jai Ho’ (Rs 17.75 crore), ‘Gunday’ (Rs 16.12 crore), ‘Ek Villain’ (Rs 16.72 crore), ‘2 states’ (Rs 12.42 crore) and ‘Humshakals’ (Rs 12.5 crore).
‘Entertainment’ opening day box office collections also fall short of Akshay’s own Rs 100-crore movie, ‘Holiday – A Soldier Is Never Off Duty’, which opened with Rs 12.18 crore. Salman Khan ‘Kick’ box office collections crawl towards Rs 300 crore mark
Disappointing ‘Entertainment’ business occurred despite, Salman Khan’s ‘Kick’ entering its third week and the screens and shows at cineplexes lessening in number across the country.
However, business of the film is expected to get a boost over the weekend – it should be remembered that ‘Kick’ too was panned by reviewers and yet it has created B.O. magic and the same is expected of ‘Entertainment’.
