A day after the UP government asked the Centre to review Anil Ambanis special economic zone (SEZ) project in Noida, chief minister Mayawati on Friday said all major decisions--including Reliance Energys Dadri power project--taken by the previous Mulayam Singh government, would be reviewed.

Addressing a press conference here, Mayawati, however, maintained that her government was not indulging in political vendetta. She made it clear though, that all major decisions of the previous government, which were found to have flouted rules, would be reviewed. Political circles contend that her statement, viewed in the context of the decision taken on Thursday to stall the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Groups (ADAG) SEZ project, would mean that the days might be numbered for industrialist friends of former chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and Samajwadi Party (SP) general secretary Amar Singh. Answering a direct question on whether her government would also review Reliance Energys Dadri power project, Mayawati said, We will look at all the decisions of the previous government and action will be taken if they are found violating the rules or against peoples interest.

The chief minister said that the decision of the state Cabinet asking the Centre to review the proposed Noida SEZ was not influenced by any political consideration.
