Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president LK Advani has summoned three key dissident leaders of Gujarat former chief minister Keshubhai Patel, Kanshiram Rana and Suresh Mehta for an important meeting in New Delhi on March 31, party sources said here on Monday.

The meeting has been convened to discuss and sort out important matters concerning the Gujarat BJP, including the issue of dissident activities, the sources said.

The meeting assumes significance in the wake of dissident activities witnessed during the Budget session of the Assembly, wherein the dissidents had tried to raise the banner of revolt against chief minister Narendra Modis style of functioning.

A senior functionary said BJP workers were not happy with the way the Modi government is functioning in the state and hence the issue of dissidence will be of prime concern in the meeting.

The issue of appointing a state president for BJP, which is overdue, is also likely to figure in the meeting, sources added.
