In sync with international advertising trends, the Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI), a premier body for advertising agencies in India, is planning to institute a new award show for advertising effectiveness in 2007.

In addition to its creative excellence awards, the AAAI is launching Media Awards during its advertising awards festival Goafest-2007 on the 21st of April this year.

Unveiling the highlights of Goafest 2007, Srinivasan K Swamy, president, AAAI (who is also the chairman and managing director of RK Swamy/BBDO) said, We have received over 3,212 entries from over 100 ad agencies across the country. Our new initiative this year is the introduction of media awards as media and creativity go hand in hand, and the same format is followed by many international award festivals such as Cannes.

According to Arvind Sharma, chairman of Goafest Committee, Entries are restricted to advertising agencies since we believe Goafest is a platform for agencies to showcase their work amongst peers.
