T-Mobile flashmob wins TV ad of year

T-Mobile's flashmob-style ad at London's Liverpool Street station has won the TV commercial of the year award at the British Television Advertising Awards. The commercial, created by the ad agency Saatchi & Saatchi, beat competition including Comparethemarket.com's TV campaign featuring the meerkat Aleksandr Orlov.

VCCP, the ad agency behind Comparethemarket.com's ads, won four gold awards for its work including the prize for best series of commercials.

Pepsis World Cup ad an online hit

Coke is the official sponsor of the FIFA World Cup in South Africa, but it is Pepsi's 2.5-minute "Oh Africa" ad that's turning heads online. It is the first World Cup ad to make the viral chart, and portends well for Pepsi's revamped social-media strategy.

Pepsi's video effort is big-budget with visual effects and stars the biggest names in the game, including Lionel Messi, Thierry Henry, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba.
