15 investors line up for Punjab TechKnow Park

Rupnagar TechKnow Park in Punjab has invited expressions of interest (EoI) from various investors in the upcoming knowledge park. About 15 investors have been shortlisted, including some industry bigwigs. The park is to be spread over 800 acre and will play host to various educational institutions and knowledge-driven companies apart from IT firms.

Punjab Infotech MD RK Verma told FE that the EoI was invited on September 17 and the last date for submission of applications is October 30.

Out of the proposals received we have shortlisted a few investors that include IT bigwigsInfosys Technologies and Tech Mahindrafor setting up their facilities and Dhirubhai University in the field of education. Also we have a proposal from a private company to set up a merchant navy training academy in the park. Moreover proposals have come for setting up of an innovation university which is a new field, said Verma.

A Delhi-based group has evinced interest in setting up the innovation university in Ropar techknow park. Punjab has identified land for IT parks and SEZs at Rajpura, Railmajra, Kapurthala, Sundra village near Derabassi and Saneda near Mohali.
