10th Plan Outlay For Petroleum Sector Fixed At Rs 1,03,655cr

The outlay for petroleum sector has been fixed at Rs 1,03,655 crore for the Tenth Plan and Rs 17,988 crore for the annual Plan. The total actual outgo in the sector during the Ninth Plan period was Rs 51,000 crore. The outlay was finalised at a meeting of petroleum minister Ram Naik and Planning Commission chief on Friday. Mr Naik said recognising the importance of exploration, more than 50 % of the plan allocation for the Tenth Plan of Rs 51,969 crore will be used for exploration and about 40 % for refining and marketing.
