India’s exports dropped by 7.4% in March due to the US-Israel war and the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. Exports to West Asia fell by 58%, leading to a trade deficit of $20.7 billion. However, the government is optimistic about future trade with the help of Free Trade Agreements. Imports also decreased by 6.5%, with only the engineering sector showing growth in exports.
