The cabinet has approved eight railway projects worth Rs 20,804 crore to be completed by FY30, covering 31 districts across nine states. These projects aim to increase rail capacity, ease congestion, and improve connectivity to villages, industrial, mining, and tourist destinations. They are expected to generate 74 MTPA of freight traffic and have been planned under PM Gati.
