Jammu and Kashmir Water Resources Minister Javed Ahmed Rana confirmed that the Shahpur Kandi dam, located on the Punjab-J&K border, will be completed by March 31, and excess water from the Ravi River will be stopped from flowing into Pakistan. The Indus Waters Treaty of 1960, which gives India full rights to the Ravi, Beas, and Satluj rivers, was suspended after the 2025 terror attack.
