India’s unemployment rate for people aged 15 years and above decreased to 5% in August, with rural areas seeing a significant drop to 4.1%. However, urban areas saw a rise to 6.8%. The joblessness rate was higher among women at 5.1%, and youth unemployment remained a concern with 15.1% in August.
